Fabrication Engineer

The Fabrication Engineer is directly involved in the production of MEMS devices in MMI’s state of the art Toledo, OH based manufacturing facility.

Qualifications:

Education/Training:

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.

Experience:

Experience with MEMS device fabrication is preferred but not required.

Physical Demands:

Able to prefer essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work well with others in a team environment is necessary. Good knowledge of standard semiconductor fabrication process. Good knowledge of MEMS specific fabrication process. Good proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office programs. Knowledge of basic MEMS devices including theory and functional descriptions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Promotes teamwork, cooperation and commitment to “Total Customer Satisfaction” among team members.

  • Support operations by leading the introduction of new MEMS products into the manufacturing facility, including photolithography mask designs, process documentation, and work flow instructions.
  • Lead development activity on new product fabrication processes for transfer to production.
  • Support production with on-going device fabrication by troubleshooting fabrication issues as they arise.
  • Support sales by helping to vet new product opportunities.
  • Interact with new and existing customers regarding prototype and recurring device fabrication.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts on MEMS device fabrication processes.
  • Lead development programs for new MEMS processes including Design of Experiments (DOE), process iterations, and process documentation.
  • Be willing to occasionally travel off site to support external fabrication processes.
  • Interact with vendors for developmental activity and recurring production of external fabrication processes.
  • Qualify newly installed processing equipment.
