Searching for Products:
Two types of Product search mechanisms are offered on this website:
"Browse" and "Keyword".
To "Browse" products contained in our on-line catalog, select either a
"Product Type" or "Measurement Type" from the drop-down menus in the "Browse
by" box to the left. Then click the "GO!" button for the appropriate menu.
You will be presented with a summary list of results. You may refine, or
"filter" this results list by clicking on any of the "Application",
"Technology", or "Configuration" links that are presented to you at the left of the page.
Note that you can select only one filter link at a time for a given category.
When filtering, the navigation path you have chosen is displayed at the top.
You may click on any portion of the navigation path if you wish to back-up
to any previous desired location. For detailed specifications, photos, and
drawings on any product shown, click on the model number or photograph of
the product of interest. While "Browsing" the product catalog, you may also enter key words
or specs in the "Search" box at the top of the page to "Search within results" in
order to narrow your results. To search the entire database of products by keyword, back out to the
"Products" page or deselect the "Search within results" check box.
For "Keyword" searching, establish your curser in the search box above by
clicking on it. Then type in a TERM, e.g., model number, partial model number, or any
keyword(s). Then click the "GO!" button that is next to the search box or
"Enter" key on your keyboard. You will either be presented with a summary
list of results, or a page indicating that the system could not find results
for the TERM(s) you entered. We have attempted to deliver results that
are most pertinent to your search; however, it is impossible for us to
accommodate every nuance of logic. Below are offered rules and hints
to help with understanding the logic behind our keyword search method.
Rules:
1. The search initially looks for an exact model number match to the entered TERM.
2. The search then looks for a partial model number match, e.g., entering 352 will
return models 352A21, 352A24, etc.
3. The search then looks for whether the entered TERM is contained within any model
number e.g., entering A21 will return 039A21, 080A21. etc.
4. A search for multiple terms, entered as: TERM1 TERM2 TERMx, will return
only items that include all terms (TERM1 + TERM2 + TERMx), but not necessarily
appearing together, or in the same order.
Hints:
1. Browsing products and then searching within results is recommended as the most efficient search technique.
2. When searching within results, enter TERMS that are utilized on specifications for similar products of interest.
This is best accomplished by reviewing a product's full specification to determine the format and syntax of how
a specification or term is handled on the specification.
3. When searching within results, enter one TERM at a time. For example, if you are looking for
a sensor with a side exit connector, at first, simply enter "side" and review the suitability of the returned results.
4. Do not bracket your keywords with quotation marks (e.g., "TERM1 TERM2").
This serves no function on this site.
5. Do not use wildcard indicators such as an asterisk (*). This serves no function on this site.
Searching for Content on this Web Site:
We currently do not offer a web site content search
mechanism; however, Google (www.google.com)
offers an advanced search option to enable searching
by keyword within a specific web site. The word "site" followed by a colon
enables you to restrict your search to www.pcb.com. To do this, use the
site:www.pcb.com syntax in the Google search box. For example, to find crash
test information on our site, type: crash test site:www.pcb.com
into the Google search box. This technique, as well as additional search options,
is further explained by visiting Google's Advanced Search link.
