Guidance for the Filtering of Dynamic Force, Pressure, Acceleration (and Other) Signals

Guidance for the Filtering of Dynamic Force, Pressure, Acceleration (and Other) Signals

Filters are frequency selective devices described by their types (low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and band-reject), their characterization (e.g., names such as Bessel, Butterworth, Chebyshev), and their complexity (the filter order, which controls their rate of signal attenuation with frequency). When using force, pressure, or acceleration transducers to measure the loading to or response of structural systems, linear, low-pass filters are typically employed to condition their signals.

            Modular Signal Conditioners

nent force sensors and the conditioning electronics necessary to meet most agencies’ requirements for limiting the reaction force between the shak er and unit under test in random vibration testing. The use of PCB piezoelectric, 3-component force sensors facilitates easy and accurate measurem
