PCB Piezotronics Announces the Appointment of Dr. Chad Walber to Acoustical Society of America Standards Committee

May 30, 2013, Depew, NY - PCB Piezotronics, Inc., a global leader in acoustic, vibration, pressure, force, load and torque sensors, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Chad Walber to the Acoustical Society of America (ASA) S1 Standards Committee as an Individual Expert in Microphones.

The ASA defines the criteria for acoustics compliancy of test and measurement microphones and sound level meter systems, as well as test and measurement procedures for mechanical vibration, shock, bioacoustics, environmental noise, and hearing conservation. The committee issues bi-monthly communications to the acoustics community and meets annually to develop new standards and revise existing standards. The appointment was approved by a panel of 17 distinguished members in acoustic fields ranging from manufacturers of sensors to consultants to end users.

Chad earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a specification in Acoustics and Vibration from the Michigan Technological University. In addition to his academic training, Chad is approaching his 10th year of hands-on working experience with sound and vibration sensors. In addition to this appointment Chad also serves as the Co-Chair of the ASA Standards committee S1/WG1 (Microphones) and is a member of the IEC Electroacoustics (Microphones) Standards Committee.
