IMI Sensors Launches Low-Cost 4-20mA Velocity Transmitter

Ideal for Industrial Vibration Monitoring

February 2023 - Depew, NY - IMI Sensors, a division of PCB Piezotronics, announced the release of Model 655A91, a low cost, 4-20 mA velocity transmitter. Combining the capabilities of a piezoelectric vibration sensor and a 4-20 mA transmitter, and featuring a 4-pin M12 connector, Model 655A91 was designed for easy integration into existing industrial monitoring systems. Its embedded piezoelectric element contributes to improved accuracy and an increased frequency response of 3.5 to 2 kHz.

This sensor outputs a signal that is proportional to the overall velocity or acceleration of machinery, making it ideal for continuous vibration monitoring in process control or predictive maintenance applications. Model 655A91 features a compact stainless steel housing, perfect for restricted height applications, and a simple 4-20 mA output for total compatibility with PLC, DCS or SCADA systems, reducing the need for sophisticated vibration analysis.
