IMI Sensors Partners with Dr. James Robinson to Create Advanced Technology Training and Sensor Development


February 19, 2014, Depew, NY - IMI Sensors, a global supplier of industrial vibration monitoring instrumentation, such as accelerometers, vibration transmitters and switches, announces the new partnership with Dr. James Robinson as Technical Consultant. Formerly Senior Technical Advisor in the Engineering Group for Emerson Process Management - CSI in Knoxville, TN – Dr. Robinson has tremendous experience in the design and development of vibration monitoring equipment and analysis methodologies used for condition monitoring.

In his new role with IMI Sensors, Dr. Robinson will be responsible for developing technical seminars and consulting with IMI’s Engineering Team to collaborate on new technology development within the Condition Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance Markets.

A pioneer in the field of industrial vibration, he introduced the SST, PeakVue™, and Autocorrelation Coefficient methodologies into the CSI analysis tool set. His development of PeakVue™ has also produced guidelines to assist in fault severity assessment for industrial vibration. Additionally, Dr. Robinson brings over 15 years of relevant vibration monitoring experience in Noise Analysis for the Nuclear Power Industry as a member of the Nuclear Engineering Department staff at the University of Tennessee. He was a co-founder of Technology for Energy Corporation in 1978 with the primary purpose to provide specialty products and services to the Nuclear Power Industry.

Dr. Robinson earned his PhD in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Tennessee.
