Engineering Process Machinist - Depew, NY

We are currently growing and in need of an Engineering Process Machinist in Depew, NY.

Basic Function:

Follow all PCB procedures and forms in compliance to ISO 9001.

Works from drawings and/or written instructions, sets up and operates a variety of manual or CNC machinery and equipment to produce precision parts

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Promotes teamwork, cooperation and commitment to “Total Customer Satisfaction” among team members.

Employee should have the ability to work at any work center and perform all functions of the job, at an advanced level be able to read and interpret blueprints. Employee will regularly use a microscope to view and inspect parts. Will use measuring instruments to inspect parts and may follow Q.C. sampling plan depending on function and make tool offsets as required. Employee will complete all required paperwork and makes data collection transactions as needed and will set an example of a team member for less experienced employees by cooperating and showing commitment to customer service. Will verify conformance of finished work to ensure compliance to tolerance and company specifications. Employee must meet or exceed production requirements for job and will perform advanced troubleshooting. Should Identify all common problems and makes changes to correct, and make recommendations for process improvements. Employee will train co-workers and identify dull or worn inserts or tools and makes changes as necessary. Understand order of operations and cycle and jogs machine through all functions. Completes preventative maintenance as required and may be required to lead others in the completion of tasks as described below. Employee will strive to achieve top level quality, and perform many other tasks as required.

Education / Training:

High School graduate or equivalent; BOCES Machine Shop or equivalent skilled trades school. Advanced shop math and advanced blue print reading skills. CNC programming. Advanced setup, problem-solving, and inspection skills (e.g., CMM). LEAN training required – Green belt. General computer skills (e.g., Excel, Word).

Experience:

Minimum of 15 years of machine shop experience.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, focus adjustment and regular use of a microscope.

Other:

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and trigonometry. Own tools required: Machinist I tools, depth micrometers and other tools necessary to perform jobs.
