Business Development Manager II

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will cultivate, coordinate, and implement plans and research projects to improve and expand the organization’s strategic market position. The BDM will play an intricate and active role in achieving growth and financial profitability for the Test & Measurement division of our business.

The BDM will be responsible for creating a strategic plan and an annual division budget consistent with corporate expectation: market growth, unconditional customer satisfaction, and pricing policies consistent with gross margin improvements.

The BDM must ensure effective communication among global sales channels through phone calls, internet web based conferences, and onsite visits. Traveling to customers, trade shows, and representative’s locations, in support of product training, new product development, and sales activities is an essential function of this role.

Collaboration with a variety of team members is essential to assure success in meeting goals; Product Managers, Field Sales/Applications Engineers, direct and non-direct International Offices, engineering, and the Director of Sales & Marketing can all be utilized to meet overall objectives of growth.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a four year technical degree, or equivalent in experience/training. At least three to five years of experience in a technical sales capacity is a must! Travel for this position is moderate, as exposure to our existing and potential customers both internationally and domestically is essential!

Qualifications:

Education/Training: Four year technical degree or equivalent specialized training. MBA or MS preferred.
Experience: Five to ten years of experience in a high tech, instrumentation, or related industry specific to the market group focus. Five or more years experience in a management role.
Physical Demands: Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Moderate to Heavy Travel.
Other: Advanced computer skills including Microsoft office and manufacturing operations information systems. Ability to understand financial reports and statements, strong supervisory, communication and delegation skills.
