Application Engineer—Cincinnati, OH

Requirements:

Education/Experience: A four year technical degree or equivalent in specialized training in the field of noise and vibration.
Experience: 0-3 years of experience.
Physical Demands: Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Light travel required.
Other: Basic computer skills.

Basic Function:

The Application Engineers main priority is to provide general sales support via phone, email and any additional forms of communication. The Application Engineer will respond to our customer’s technical questions and various inquiries. The AE will also review a customer’s specific application and goals in order to generate a product quote for the appropriate instruments and software. In order to be successful the Application Engineer will receive training in sales procedures and general noise and vibration principles. The application engineer will need to become knowledgeable in the key applications for Larson Davis products (1) environmental noise monitoring, (2) Industrial hygiene, (3) building acoustics, (4) product testing, (5) audiometer calibration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responds to a wide range of customer inquiries by phone or email.
  • Provides technical sales support for the instruments and software and may conduct customer webinars or direct visits with the sales team.
  • Provides quotations for products and services in accordance with pricing and delivery policy.
  • Assists the sales teams with customer follow up on quotes and consignment orders.
  • Assists customers technically and seeks technical assistance when needed to best serve the customer.
    • Assists in the expediting of orders and repairs (Quality Concerns)
    • Generates RMA forms, documents information from customers
  • Performs follow up on sales activity.
  • Acts as a liaison between the customer and Product Managers by communicating customer feedback and customer input required for market research.
  • Provides product training to the internal sales team and customers as needed
  • Conducts new product beta testing and provides feedback to the product engineering team.
  • Seeks to improve the technical support efficiency by documenting FAQS, website improvements, and identifying process enhancements.
  • May be asked to support marketing material, events, and tradeshows.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
