IMI Sensors Introduces Dedicated Mining Team, Set to Exhibit at CONEXPO-Con/Agg in Las Vegas Hilton

Application Specific Solutions for Underground and Surface-Level Mining Operations

February 19, 2014, DEPEW, NY – IMI Sensors, a global supplier of industrial vibration monitoring instrumentation, such as accelerometers, vibration transmitters and switches, introduces a dedicated line of sensors for monitoring and protection of critical machinery and worker safety in a mine.

At this year’s CONEXPO- Con/Agg tradeshow scheduled for March 3-7 in Las Vegas Hilton, IMI Sensors is set to exhibit a new range of sensor technology designed to improve mining equipment performance by keeping cost per ton low and profit margins high.

The new line of sensing technologies is ideal for use in a mining operation, which typically involves a variety of heavy machinery used for extraction and processing of non-metals, metals and minerals. In all of these applications, the machinery is subject to severe vibration.

Specialized sensors, some of which must be approved for use in hazardous and dangerous areas, are mounted on industrial mining equipment, such as shovels, draglines, bulldozers, drills, SAG and ball mills, conveyors, pumps, vibratory screens, and trucks. Monitoring these critical assets helps reliability professionals to extend the life of their industrial equipment, as well as to ensure worker safety where environmental noise is prevalent.

IMI’s MSHA- certified, dedicated mining team offers unique solutions for some of the toughest vibration monitoring challenges. For example, IMI’s Echo® Wireless Vibration Monitoring System has been tested to be effective in extreme remote applications such as tailings pond pumps. Innovative new products combined with critical certifications, such as IMI’s MSHA underground approved accelerometers, make the technology ideal for asset reliability needs in the mining industry.

IMI Sensors also released a new brochure highlighting application-specific solutions for monitoring and protection of critical mining equipment. The brochure is designed to help mining professionals to select the optimal sensors and accessories for monitoring mining machinery. Worker safety products, such as environmental and handheld noise monitoring equipment for use in general and hazardous areas, are also featured in the brochure.

The new brochure and additional supporting information about sensors for use in underground and surface-level mining is available here. Please direct all technical inquiries to Chester Connor, Global Mining Business Development Manager with IMI Sensors, at: (888) 538-9700 or cconnor@pcb.com.
