Production Technician IV

We are currently growing and in need of a Production Technician IV in Depew, NY.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.  Associates degree in a technical discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years.  Must be able to perform hand soldering.  Good problem solving skills.  Basic knowledge of electronics.  Basic computer skills. 
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.  Good eye/hand coordination, good hand dexterity, color perception.

 


Essential Functions:

Self-motivated to perform a variety of assembly tasks that require the ability to follow written/verbal instructions and a thorough knowledge of techniques, materials, tools and equipment.  Serves as backup for first line supervisor.  Assists in training less experienced technicians.

 

  1. Responsible for knowing, using, and instructing others on proper ESD procedures as outlined in the ESD manual.
  2. Understands their role in implementing the ISO 9001 standard and complies with all aspects of the standard.
  3. Ensures production schedule and delivery deadlines are met for team.
  4. Refers to drawings, routers, and established specifications to perform sub-assemblies, element assemblies, AMP assemblies, and prototypes on various product lines.
  5. Performs detail/final inspection of products.
  6. Maintains production log.
  7. Performs failure analysis. 
  8. Uses and trains others on microscope, basic tools, fine hand tools, epoxy/cures, inspection processes, and advanced soldering techniques.  During assembling may perform such tasks as deburring, soldering, spot welding, lapping, washing and polishing.
  9. Responsible for operating and maintaining equipment such as marker, spot welder, potting machine, vapor degreaser, leak tester, lapping machine, and sandblaster.
  10. Leads/participates in Yield Improvement Teams.
  11. Reviews assembly procedures and recommends improvements or changes.
  12. Performs simple failure analysis.
  13. Reviews and updates assembly procedures.
  14. Shows commitment to quality and total customer satisfaction through dedicating skills to achieve zero defect status.
  15. Provides information to supervisor and co-workers to positively affect quality and output.
  16. Follows safe work practices, especially when working with chemicals and if applicable their hazardous waste.
  17. Performs other related duties as directed to ensure efficient operation of department and PCB.
