Field Sales Engineer in Training

PCB Piezotronics Inc. is seeking well rounded Engineers for an exciting career as a Sales Engineer. The successful candidate will be able to understand the Sales process and provide solutions to customer/prospect problems while using their technical competencies, knowledge of PCB products and support through on-site visits, phone coverage and/or email/text.

You will be coached to own a territory and PCB will provide training regarding Product, People and Processes as well as general piezoelectric principals to support your success.

The training period for this role will last eight months to a year at our Buffalo corporate headquarters. The right candidate must be comfortable with travel (up to 50%) and relocation. Upon successful completion of the training period, a territory assignment will be made, with relocation to one of the Regional Office cities.

Job Summary:

The Field Sales Engineer position at PCB responsible for identifying/developing relationships with new and existing customers by utilizing effective key and target account management skills to maximize systems sales volume. Responsibilities include maintaining existing relationships while identifying and closing opportunities with both new and existing customers. Ability to manage and penetrate key accounts in target market segments is critical to successful territory management.

Requirements:

Four year technical degree a must! The right personality for this role is extremely important; must be friendly, outgoing, and personable. Any specialized training and/or experience in dynamic instrumentation field a plus! Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Extensive auto and air travel required. Basic computer skills required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides general sales support and phone coverage for customers.
  • Receives training in company sales procedures and general piezoelectric principles.
  • Provides quotations for products and service in accordance with pricing and delivery policy.
  • Assists Product Groups with follow up activities.
  • Responds to a wide range of written and phone customer inquiries. Provides feedback to internal staff.
  • Schedules visits with customers in assigned territory.
  • Performs demonstrations of equipment and trains customers on the proper use of equipment.
  • Provides critical liaison between customers and factory by communicating customer inputs to support PCB Marketing and Engineering efforts.
  • Develops forecast and sales plan for assigned territory.
  • Attends and participates at sales conferences.
  • Attends trade shows and local conferences in assigned territory and other areas where needed.
