MEMS Engineering Technician

Job Summary:

Follow all PCB procedures and forms in compliance to ISO 9001.

Produce MEMS accelerometers, based on fabrication of 4” wafers that are bonded, electrically tested, diced and inspected. The PCB MEMS group operates from 2 facilities in Seattle: shared cleanroom space at the University of Washington (UW) at the Washington Nanofabrication Facility (WNF) in Fluke Hall, and a nearby office with backend and other support facilities (Union Bay facility).

Ability to demonstrate experience in process, assembly and test of semiconductor devices. Will be responsible for maintaining and updating procedures, identifying and implementing process and yield improvements. Must work collaboratively with the PCB team and other lab staff towards continuous improvement of production, and its related equipment and processes in the lab.

Requirements:

Education/Training: Associates Degree in applicable technical field with applicable experience; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Special Skills: Must be familiar with photolithography equipment, plasma etch, screen printing, wafer bonding, dicing saw, inspection (microscopes, profilometers, probe stations, etc.), thin films tools, wet chemistry.
Experience: A minimum three to five years of experience.
Physical Demands: Ability to perform all job functions with reasonable accommodations. Strength, vision, dexterity and safety awareness suited to Class 100 cleanroom operations. Must function in a cleanroom suit, with appropriate PPE on a routine basis

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. 4 Inch Silicon Wafer processing.
  2. Will work with Engineering team for continuous process improvement.
  3. Maintain high standards of production control and inspection.
  4. Develop backup capabilities outside WNF
  5. Maintain procedures and inventory management per company policies.
  6. Maintain accurate chemical records.
  7. Work with PCB Production personnel (Depew, NY facility) to maintain adequate inventory of support tools and chemicals
